West’s aggression against Russia also aimed at China, British politician argues

According to George Galloway, even as Beijing has not been a party to the Ukraine conflict, the Chinese side "knows that the same forces seeking to weaken Russia, balkanize Russia, break Russia, also have ambitions in that regard for them"

BEIJING, October 13. /TASS/. In its aggression against Russia using Ukraine as a proxy, the West is also taking aim at China, George Galloway, leader of the Workers Party of Britain, told TASS.

"I think the [Western] aggression against Russia mounted by NATO, through the proxy of Ukraine is also aimed at China," he said on the premises of the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing. "It's aimed at the emerging world power, which is the BRICS, the SCO, the Global South - all those who challenge the unipolar moment and seek to alter it," he argued.

Even as Beijing has not been a party to the Ukraine conflict, the Chinese side "knows that the same forces seeking to weaken Russia, balkanize Russia, break Russia, also have ambitions in that regard for them," Galloway continued.

The British politician shared his impressions from a recent trip to China: "We've seen China up close and personal in different cities. I think we are fully grasped of China's emerged greatness, and therefore can fully understand why the West is anxious about China seeking to de-risk from China, as they put it, which really means they consider China an adversary."

According to Galloway, "Russia faced this, has emerged from this, and is on the point of victory over this." "This is useful as a lesson to everybody in the emerging world, the new world that is struggling to be born," the politician continued. "The West hegemony has lasted hundreds of years - this is Roman empire levels of domination and longevity. Nobody gives up an empire like that easily, but they [Western countries] will have to give up," he emphasized.

EU at a crossroads

The leader of the British party said the public in the EU knows that the bloc is currently at a crossroads. "They have to decide whether to carry on down the road they've been traveling or take the opportunity of an off-ramp. And I hope they'll do so," he noted.

Thus, Galloway explained, the British economy "is in ruins" amid the Western aggression, French society "is in flames," the German government is "in a slow motion for huge things are happening," while "the Greeks are on the march." These negative trends are all related to the Ukraine conflict, the politician concluded.
