MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. Latvia’s security agencies launched a reconnaissance drone that is flying near the borders with Russia and Belarus, a source in air traffic control services told TASS.

"The drone was launched near the village of Cibuli, close to the Russian border. It then flew parallel to the border and is now flying near the border with Belarus," the source said.

He identified the aircraft as a Penguin C UAS, designed to detect moving targets, conduct surveillance and gather intelligence.

"The drone is flying at an altitude of about 1.2 kilometers, outside flight corridors designated for civil and general aviation, including low-altitude routes," the source said, adding that this was not the first such launch this month.
