Nigel Farage described Ukraine as one of the most corrupt countries in the world

LONDON, October 12. /TASS/. Nigel Farage, the leader of the Reform UK party, says he may revise financial assistance to Ukraine amid the wide-spread corruption in that country if his party comes to power in the United Kingdom.

"I’ve never said we shouldn’t support Ukraine, ever. But I have said I would have a keen look to make sure British taxpayers’ money is not being swallowed up in corruption," he said at a press conference on his party’s program for reforming the UK’s asylum system.

According to Farage, Ukraine is "one of the most corrupt countries on earth," with Vladimir Zelensky and his administration being bogged down in corruption. "Zelensky’s administration has been rocked by corruption claims, which perhaps makes at some point a general election there an important thing to do," he said.

According to the latest opinion poll conducted by YouGov, Reform UK is second in terms of popularity in the country, with 22% of voters being ready to support it. The ruling Labour Party tops the list (27%) and the Conservative Party is third (20%). The Liberal Democrats and the Green Party are supported by 11% of voters each. The next parliamentary elections are to be held before August 2029.
