MOSCOW, October 11. /TASS/. A US-registered NATO reconnaissance aircraft spent more than seven hours in the sky over the Black Sea, a source in air traffic control services told TASS.
"Bombardier ARTEMIS II reconnaissance aircraft spent more than seven hours flying from the west to the east and back over the southern part of the Black Sea neutral waters," he source said, adding that the plane was flying at an altitude of 10.5 kilometers, not entering any country’s airspace and using corridors for civil aircraft flights.
The source noted that this aircraft is permanently based in Romania’s Constan·a, from where it typically departs on weekdays for areas over the Black Sea, the Baltic states, or near the Kaliningrad Region. "Weekend flights are quite rare for the Bombardier ARTEMIS II," the source said, adding that the aircraft had already flown over the Black Sea earlier this week. On Wednesday, it was accompanied by a Swedish Air Force Gulfstream S102B Korpen radar reconnaissance aircraft, which was flying a similar route.
