Kiev faces critical situation as its power generation destroyed, says expert
Emergency blackouts were earlier imposed in the part of the city on the right bank of the Dnieper
MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. Power generation facilities in Kiev have been either partially or completely destroyed, resulting in one of the most difficult situations in the country, Ukrainian energy expert Stanislav Ignatyev has said.
"The situation in the capital is currently one of the most critical ones. There is a power shortage. What is the reason for this? All power generation facilities have been destroyed or significantly damaged - specifically, the privately owned Darnitsa combined heat and power plant, CHPP-4, has been ruined, while CHPP-5 and CHPP-6 have sustained significant damage; consequently, there is no power generation there," he said on the "Superposition" YouTube channel.
Earlier, power supply issues resurfaced in Kiev, and emergency blackouts were imposed in the part of the city on the right bank of the Dnieper. Subsequently, both Ukrainian media and local authorities reported disruptions to public transport and water supplies caused by the power outages.
