CIS foreign ministers discuss regional security, economy at meeting in Turkmenistan

DUSHANBE, October 7. /TASS/. Participants in a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers discussed regional security, strengthening economic cooperation and expanding humanitarian ties, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said.
"CIS foreign ministers exchanged views on pressing international issues and discussed prospects for cooperation within the organization. The meeting focused in particular on regional security, strengthening economic cooperation, and expanding humanitarian and cultural ties among the CIS member states," the foreign ministry said on its website.
The summit resulted in decisions aimed at "consistently developing and strengthening multifaceted cooperation within the bloc."
The CIS foreign ministers met in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan. The summit took place ahead of the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, which will be held in Turkmenbashi on October 9. Russian President Vladimir Putin will also attend the meeting.
