Coalition navy carries out operation against Houthis in Yemen’s Hodeidah
Spokesman Turki Al-Maliki said that coalition forces thwarted planned attacks on shipping routes in the southern Red Sea
DOHA, October 6. /TASS/. Naval forces from the Saudi-led coalition carried out an operation in Yemen’s Hodeidah Governorate, attacking facilities belonging to the Houthi rebel movement Ansar Allah, coalition spokesman Turki Al-Maliki said.
"The operation involved the destruction of legitimate military targets belonging to the terrorist Houthi group," the Saudi Press Agency quoted him as saying.
According to Al-Maliki, coalition forces thwarted planned attacks on shipping routes in the southern Red Sea. The operation destroyed weapons depots, as well as storage facilities for explosive-laden boats and naval mines.
The coalition spokesman added that the operation was part of efforts to ensure the security of navigation in the Bab Al-Mandab Strait.
