In total, at least five incursions by Israeli forces were recorded in southern Syria over the past 24 hours. On Friday, additional military checkpoints were set up for security inspections in the villages of Buraykah, Jubata al-Khashab, and Al-Hamidiyah, sparking protests among the local population.
On September 23, Ahmed al-Sharaa, president of the Arab Republic for the transitional period, demanded that Israel withdraw its occupation forces from all Syrian areas seized following the change of power in Damascus in December 2024. Speaking at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the politician stated that the Golan Heights - despite being seized in 1967 - remain Syrian territory.
