PYONGYANG, September 30. /TASS/. Deputy Defense Ministers of North Korea and Vietnam, Ryo Chol-un and Nguyen Truong Thang, have discussed in Hanoi further expansion and development of military cooperation, according to the Korean Central News Agency of Korea (KCNA).

The negotiations took place on September 24 at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam. According to the agency, the parties considered issues related to the development of military cooperation following a summit of the leaders of the two countries in Pyongyang in October 2025.

During the visit, which took place from September 24 to 28, Ryo Chol-un also met with Vietnamese Defense Minister Phan Van Giang. The North Korean delegation visited units of the Vietnam People's Army and the Military Medical Academy, and also laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Ho-Chi-Minh.

In October 2025, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam visited Pyongyang for talks with the country leader Kim Jong Un. They agreed to develop cooperation, including in defense.
