THE HAGUE, September 29. /TASS/. The next regular session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute, the governing, administrative, and legislative organ of the International Criminal Court (ICC), will be held in the Hague instead of New York, the ICC press service said.

"The Bureau of the Assembly of States Parties decided that the twenty-fifth session of the Assembly, originally scheduled to take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York, will be relocated to The Hague from 30 November to 7 December 2026 (inclusive), with Saturday, 5 December and Sunday, 6 December as working days," it said, providing no reasons for such a decision.

The Wall Street Journal reported on September 20, citing US officials and documents, that the US administration is preparing sweeping sanctions against the ICC that would prohibit most financial transactions with it that could potentially paralyze its operations.

The current US administration has already imposed sanctions on the ICC several times. US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to impose restrictions on the court’s officials on February 6, 2025. The US has accused the ICC of taking unlawful actions against Washington and its allies, such as Israel.
