DOHA, September 29. /TASS/. Qatar continues to host regular meetings and deliver messages to overcome differences between the United States and Iran, Official Spokesperson of the emirate’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari said.

"There are obstacles to any agreement, and our role is to overcome difficulties and try and bring the parties’ positions closer, and this is exactly what is taking place right now," the diplomat said at a news briefing. Al-Ansari refused to comment on the specifics of the negotiation process or say whether Doha has received a response from Washington to the latest proposals from Tehran. At that, he emphasized that the contacts are ongoing. "Meetings essentially take place on a regular basis. You have heard about meetings held over the past few days, and we are in the process of delivering messages between the parties," he added.
