UNITED NATIONS, September 28. /TASS/. Terrorist groups are rapidly adopting new technologies, including artificial intelligence, Acting UN Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism Alexander Zuev told TASS.

"Terrorism continues to evolve. Terrorist groups are progressively adopting emerging and developing technologies, including artificial intelligence, and are seeking to exploit instability and weak governance, particularly in certain African countries," said Zuev, who also heads the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism.

In his words, sustained efforts and vigilance are necessary in order to effectively counter the constantly evolving terrorist threat. Zuev said that the UN Office on Counter-Terrorism, in cooperation with the UN Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee and its Executive Directorate, coordinates assistance to countries in enhancing their potential and provides technical assistance on the basis of the Committee’s recommendations.
