MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. The Sri Lankan army personnel will be able to withstand any battle thanks to taking part in the Wolverine Trail 2026 joint exercise with the Russian military, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lankan Army Dinesh Udugama said.

"Here (at the exercise – TASS), 19 training points were set up where any Sri Lankan or Russian officer or soldier could undergo training. Following this training, they will be able to survive on any battlefield in the future and participate in any combat operations, because what was presented here was very useful and important," he said, thanking the Russian side for conducting such exercises in a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The Wolverine Trail 2026 joint Russian-Sri Lankan military maneuvers took place in the Primorsky Region from September 22 to 27. The exercise centered on joint operations by special forces to eliminate illegal armed groups with the active use of reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicles. A series of cultural and sports events aimed at strengthening friendly ties between the military contingents of the two countries were also organized as part of the maneuvers.
