BEIRUT, September 27. /TASS/. Israeli Air Force fighter jets resumed attacks on Saturday against mountainous areas near the Lebanese towns of Jezzine and Nabatieh, located north of the Litani River.

According to the Janoubia news portal, intense airstrikes targeted underground shelters, command posts, and depots belonging to the Shiite organization Hezbollah on the heights of Jebel al-Rafi, Rayhan, and Sajoud.

The portal reports that the resistance forces' largest outpost in this southern region is situated in the mountainous Iqlim al-Tuffah area. Following the destruction of Hezbollah's underground infrastructure on the Ali al-Taher heights on September 10, the Israeli command intends to focus its strikes on this sector. Ground operations are expected to follow the massive bombardment of Iqlim al-Tuffah.

Currently, ahead of a new escalation in hostilities, a rotation of Israeli forces stationed in the buffer zone in southern Lebanon is underway.

According to the portal, powerful explosions rocked the towns of Majdal Zoun and Mays al-Jabal on Saturday afternoon as they came under Israeli artillery fire. Artillery shells also struck the town of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah. Local authorities reported damage to residential homes and other structures, but no casualties were reported.
