WASHINGTON, September 26. /TASS/. The total number of US military personnel injured since Israel and the United States launched military operations against Iran stands at 861, the Pentagon said.

According to it, during the Epic Fury operation, which began in late February and ended on May 5, 418 US military personnel were injured and 14 killed.

The Pentagon keeps separate foreign operations records of the losses incurred from July 7 to the present. It says five troops were killed and 443 wounded in the period.

In early August, the total number of wounded amounted to 687.

The United States and Israel launched a war against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. However, on the night of July 8, the United States resumed large-scale strikes against Iran, accusing it of violating the agreements on the Strait of Hormuz.
