BEIJING, September 25. /TASS/. Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the US ended in success, China Central Television reported.

After Xi completed a series of events with US President Donald Trump, his motorcade headed to the airport. Members of the local Chinese community and students from China lined both sides of the road, "warmly congratulating him on the successful conclusion of his visit," the broadcaster said.

A 21-gun salute was fired in Xi’s honor at the airport, where senior US officials saw him off, it added.

Earlier, during a tea ceremony in Washington, Xi told Trump that his visit had "been extremely successful" and that he and his wife, Peng Liyuan, "were very pleased."

Xi visited the United States from September 23 to 25. The two leaders discussed a range of issues involving political, trade and economic relations between China and the United States, as well as pressing international matters.
