BEIJING, September 25. /TASS/. During talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House, Chinese President Xi Jinping described a new trade agreement concluded by the two states as good news for the global economy.

"Trade and economic delegations of the two countries have held a new round of talks and reached a new joint agreement, which is good news for the two nations’ industries, their citizens and even for the global economy," he said.

In his words, China and the United States should jointly pave the way toward co-existence and ensure that peace in their relations is attainable.

"In May of this year, President Trump and I made the decision to build a constructive relationship of strategic stability between China and the United States. This new positioning reflects the actual state of affairs in the China-US relations, embodies our hopes for the future and represents an important step toward proper interaction between the two states," Xi Jinping was quoted as saying by China’s Central Television.

"We need to translate this concept into reality, striving to pave a path toward the proper co-existence of two great powers so that cooperation prevails, competition remains within reasonable limits, differences are kept under control, and peace is within reach," the Chinese leader added.
