NEW YORK, September 22. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump told his advisers that he is ready to meet with the Iranian delegation on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, if "conditions are right," CNN quoted sources as saying.

According to them, such a meeting could also take place with some of the president’s closest advisers, with whom he arrived in New York, although no contacts are planned at the moment.

The US administration is considering a US-Iranian meeting and is pondering whether such contacts would be meaningful for Washington’s efforts to resolve the conflict with Tehran.

According to a CNN source, the US government doubts whether the officials now present in New York enjoy the trust of Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. As CNN reported, it is still unclear whether Iran is ready for a possible meeting.
