PYONGYANG, September 22. /TASS/. The Missile Administration of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has successfully tested a new-type weapon, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

The country’s leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the test that took place on September 20.

"The test was undoubtedly a striking demonstration of ultra-modern defense technology and clear progress in the modernization of the armed forces," he was quoted as saying by the agency.

The test did not have any adverse impact on the security of neighboring countries, according to the agency. The report did not provide any information regarding the type or characteristics of the new weapon.

To acquire such a technology is of weighty significance in the state’s readiness for war and the future development of the armed forces, Kim Jong Un said, adding that the country’s enemy "will know better what such progress means without any explanation in the aspect of military technology."
