WASHINGTON, September 18. /TASS/. The number of US servicemen killed in the conflict with Iran is higher than official figures and stands at a least 22 rather than 18, The Washington Post (WP) reported, citing sources.

According to them, Pentagon officials are dissatisfied that the accurate figures are not reflected in official documents of the US Department of Defense.

The United States and Israel launched the war against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. Later the US effectively signaled that it would stop using large-scale military force against Iran and shift to an attempt to economically smother it with sanctions.
