ISLAMABAD, September 18. /TASS/. At least 21 people, including 15 police officers, were killed in a terrorist attack near a mosque in the northwestern Pakistani city of Kohat, Geo News reported, citing medical personnel.
According to the medics, another 103 people were injured. Earlier reports said 16 people had been killed and 50 injured in a blast carried out by a suicide bomber near a mosque at the Police Lines complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Security forces killed six attackers in a shootout.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow was alarmed by these reports and offers condolences to the families of those killed. She noted that Russia strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and consistently calls for countries to unite in fighting this threat.
