Ukrainian forces suffer record losses — Polish prime minister
Donald Tusk added that if this trend continues, the winter in Ukraine "could indeed prove catastrophic"
MOSCOW, September 18. /TASS/. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Ukrainian forces’ losses had reached record levels and predicted a catastrophically difficult winter for Ukraine.
"Our Ukrainian partners told me that recently the number of killed and wounded per month has reached 27,000. And these are, of course, record figures," Tusk said in an address to the Sejm on Thursday, according to the Interia.pl news portal.
He added that if this trend continues, the winter in Ukraine "could indeed prove catastrophic."
In December 2025, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Ukrainian forces’ personnel losses had long exceeded one million and continued to rise. Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov also said that Ukrainian security and military agencies had lost around 500,000 personnel in 2025 alone.
