Death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon exceeds 4,350 — health ministry
More than 12,320 people were injured
BEIRUT, September 1. /TASS/. The Lebanese health ministry has updated data on casualties from the Israel-Hezbollah standoff.
"The overall death toll among the Lebanese since the outbreak of the ongoing armed escalation on March 2 has climbed to 4,353, with 12,323 people being injured," it said in a statement posted on its X page.
According to the ministry, on Tuesday, Israel delivered airstrikes on a number of settlements in violation of the June 19 ceasefire. No data on potential casualties from Tuesday’s attacks are immediately available.
The ministry said earlier that Israeli troops had used phosphorus munitions to shell the hills of Ali al-Taher, where units of the Shiite movement Hezbollah were active. Fires broke out in several locations. Their residents had been evacuated.
