TEHRAN, August 31. /TASS/. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the Iranian army) said they have shot down an MQ-9 US unmanned aerial vehicle over the Strait of Hormuz.

"Several minutes ago, an MQ-9 drone was intercepted and destroyed from a state-of-the-art air defense system of the IRGC aerospace forces incorporated into the unified network of the country’s air defense," it said, adding that the drone was taken down in the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz.
