European leaders are actually limited in their capabilities to provide new guarantees and additional aid to Ukraine, therefore, amid arms shortages, EU foreign ministers are expected to discuss Ukraine’s financial needs at a meeting on September 1 in Ireland, the Euractiv portal reported, citing sources.
The sources noted that some EU countries intend to push for a resumption of discussions on the use of frozen Russian assets. European foreign ministers are expected to address Ukraine’s chronic financing needs when they meet on 1 September in Ireland. Some EU countries will push to reopen the debate over the use of immobilized Russian assets, according to Euractiv.
Moscow has consistently stated that increasing military aid to Kiev prolongs the crisis and makes weapons suppliers complicit in heinous crimes.
