US actions created global nuclear instability — Iran’s Security Council
According to Mohsen Rezaei, Washington’s moves have prompted many countries to consider obtaining a nuclear weapon
RABAT, August 22. /TASS/. Aggressive actions of the United States have prompted many countries to think about obtaining a nuclear weapon, so Washington’s moves triggered the atmosphere of nuclear instability worldwide, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said.
"The foolishness of [US President Donald] Trump, expressed in his attacks on Iran, has fuelled the world’s desire to obtain nuclear weapons when it became clear that membership in the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons will not prevent the US from attacking," he was quoted as saying by the Tasnim news agency.
"The Americans have betrayed negotiations and diplomacy and even violated their own signature under the bilateral memorandum of understanding with Iran," Rezaei continued.
For this reason, he believes, Iran needs to update its military and diplomatic strategy.
"Following the negotiations and the violation of US promises to the Islamic Republic, we need to carry out reforms in our diplomatic approach to the [rest of the] world," the Iranian security official added.
