Ukraine will lose war due to Zelensky’s "wild illusions" — former spokesperson
Yulia Mendel believes that "the front will be moving in Russian favour against the backdrop of a collapsing economy, democracy, and political crisis"
MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/. Ukraine will lose the current conflict due to Vladimir Zelensky’s "wild illusions," former Zelensky press secretary Yulia Mendel said in a post on X.
"The decisions of the Ukrainian authorities under Zelensky's leadership have been full of mistakes since 2022, but they have now reached their peak. He is turning against his own people, clinging parasitically to power and knowing he can never hold on to it without authoritarian rule," Mendel wrote.
"Unfortunately, it looks as though the war in Ukraine will be lost because of the wild illusions that Zelensky promotes and that the liberal West supports," the former press secretary said. In her view, "the front will be moving in Russian favour against the backdrop of a collapsing economy, democracy, and political crisis."
Yulia Mendel is known for criticizing Zelensky. She has repeatedly pointed to mistakes by the Ukrainian leadership in various areas, including the military. According to Mendel, these mistakes have caused Ukraine to suffer disproportionate losses amid the escalation.
