Iran to look at lifting restrictions on Iraqi tankers in Hormuz Strait

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will discuss with his country’s leadership the issue of removing Iraq from the list of countries subject to restrictions on the passage of their ships through the Strait of Hormuz, Iraqi parliament speaker Haibat al-Halbousi said.
"Iranian parliament speaker Ghalibaf said that he will discuss the issue of lifting restrictions on Iraqi oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz with Iran's top leaders," al-Halbousi said, as cited by the Al-Markazia news portal.
During a recent meeting with Ghalibaf in Baghdad, the Iraqi parliament speaker asked the Iranian authorities to grant Iraq a "special status" regarding oil exports via the Strait of Hormuz to "ensure protections of its economic interests."
