Any country including Iran can join Mecca Pact, Pakistani ambassador says

MOSCOW, August 13. /TASS/. Any country including Iran can join the Mecca Pact, Pakistani Ambassador to Moscow Faisal Niaz Tirmizi told TASS.
"Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that if other countries in the region want to join, they are more than welcome to the alliance," he said.
The diplomat confirmed that Tehran could join as well when asked specifically about Iran. "Any country, all countries in the region. This is absolutely clear. The alliance was created for peace and stability, not to attack anyone," Tirmizi said.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the Mecca Pact on August 7. Under the pact an attack on any member is considered an act of aggression against all members.
