NEW YORK, August 12. /TASS/. A number of contractor companies participating in the development of the US Golden Dome missile defense system have completed their first tests, Bloomberg reported, citing US Space Force General Michael Guetlein.

According to his information, a number of firms, including SpaceX and Northrop Grumman, "successfully completed their first key tests" for the Golden Dome system. As the agency notes, the testing program for the contractors included testing data transmission from sensors to the interceptor, as well as demonstration of propulsion systems.

Following the completion of the first series of tests, the companies will move to the next phase of testing, which will focus on demonstrating the capabilities of the developed technologies to function in space.

Moscow has repeatedly emphasized that the Golden Dome system undermines strategic stability. In January, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev noted that its appearance is rather provocative. Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov noted that this US system provides for both anti-missile interception and pre-launch destruction of Russian and Chinese missiles.
