"Wonderful news," she wrote on X, accompanying the post with President Donald Trump’s statement on Gilman's release. In another post, lawmaker noted the contribution of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy to the US President Steve Witkoff and "all parties involved."

Earlier, Trump confirmed Gilman’s release, adding that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin agreed to release Gilman without an exchange.
