WASHINGTON, August 11. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has confirmed reports about the release of Robert Gilman, convicted in Russia, in a post on Truth Social.

"I am proud to announce that American Citizen Robert Gilman, a former United States Marine, is coming HOME!" Trump wrote.

In his words, Gilman will arrive in the United States early on Wednesday Moscow time. His plane will land at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., where US administration officials will meet him.

Trump also said that some of his representatives were on a plane with Gilman, but did not name them.
