MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. Russian strikes have destroyed 80,000-100,000 square meters of cold storage facilities in Kiev and its environs, and the remaining facilities cover only 20-30% of the region’s needs, the RBC-Ukraine news agency reported, citing Alexander Bondarenko, a representative of GreenInvest.

The expert added that building a refrigerated warehouse - even one as small as 2,000-3,000 square meters - can take up to a year. The use of smaller hubs or delivery of goods from other regions will lead to a significant increase in retailers' costs - by more than 15-20%. All of this could lead to product shortages in the Kiev region, including at major chains such as Silpo and Fora.

The Russian Defense Ministry earlier reported that Russian forces carried out strikes on Ukraine’s military-related transport and logistics centers.
