TEHRAN, August 10. /TASS/. Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei conferred the rank of lieutenant general to Ahmad Vahidi and appointed him to the post of commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The same decree also appoints Mostafa Izadi as his deputy.

Besides, Ali Ozmaei was appointed as the new head of the IRGC Navy.

Former IRGC Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Pakpour and IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admi. Alireza Tangsiri were killed on February 28, on the first day of the US-Israeli military operation against Iran.
