MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. A NATO reconnaissance aircraft has been spotted near the Kaliningrad Region for the second time since the beginning of August, circling the Russian region, a source in European Union air traffic control services told TASS.

"The Bombardier Artemis II aircraft has again been spotted in the immediate vicinity of the Kaliningrad Region. It is circling the region while operating in Polish and Lithuanian airspace, as well as over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea," the source said.

He noted that the aircraft last flew a similar route on August 4. It was then spotted several times in the airspace of the Baltic states, including off Estonia’s Gulf of Finland coast, but did not approach areas bordering Russia and Belarus. "The aircraft is now cruising at an altitude of about 11 km, including through corridors designated for civil aviation," the source noted.

The Bombardier Artemis II is based at an airfield in Constanta, Romania, from where it takes off for missions. It usually operates either near the Baltic states or over the neutral waters of the Black Sea. In the latter case, it flies from west to east and back over the southern part of the sea without entering the airspace of any country.
