DOHA, August 8. /TASS/. Muscat and Tehran are holding talks on shipping arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz in a positive and constructive atmosphere, Oman's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"The current talks on mechanisms for shipping in the Strait of Hormuz are taking place in a positive and constructive atmosphere," the statement reads.

The ministry also emphasized the importance of "avoiding any action that could affect the talks and the progress that has already been achieved."

According to him, the previous route is no longer acceptable to Iran, making it necessary to establish a new one, a process that requires resolving legal and technical issues. He added that a temporary route would remain in place until a permanent one is agreed.
