According to the report, the US military is planning to launch flight demonstrations of the system in 2027

NEW YORK, August 8. /TASS/. The US military is planning to complete the first trials of the Golden Dome missile defense system this year and launch flight demonstrations in 2027, Bloomberg reported.

According to the report, the milestones include a ground test, two flight tests in space, and an intercept demonstration of the technology in 2029. At the same time, the government is ready to pay $60 million to companies building mid-course interceptors for completing a ground test by the end of the year.

Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth reported in June that the US had successfully tested its Golden Dome missile defense system.

Moscow has repeatedly emphasized that the Golden Dome system undermines strategic stability. In January, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev noted that its appearance is rather provocative. Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov noted that this American system provides for both anti-missile interception and pre-launch destruction of Russian and Chinese missiles.
