WASHINGTON, August 7. /TASS/. President Donald Trump warned that the Republican Party may never get another president into the White House if the Democrats take control of Congress.

"And I'll tell you what, if they [Democrats] get in, I may be the last Republican president," he said in an interview with Punchbowl News.

At the same time, Trump stood firm that he believed the GOP would come out on top, but said the Senate will have to "get smart" for that to happen.

The US midterm elections will be held on November 3. One-third of the Senate and the entire House of Representatives will be up for election. Both chambers of the US legislature are currently controlled by the Republican Party.
