ISTANBUL, August 7. /TASS/. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have officially signed a trilateral defense agreement, establishing a mutual defense commitment whereby an attack on any one of the signatory nations will be regarded as an attack on all three, the Turkish presidential office said.

A joint statement issued after the Mecca summit emphasizes that the agreement is aimed at strengthening joint deterrence against any aggression and stipulates that any armed attack on one of the three countries will be considered an attack on all. It also provides for the development of defense cooperation between the three nations.

The deal, known as the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, was signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, marking a significant step in regional security cooperation.
