TEHRAN, August 6. /TASS/. The fees for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz will vary based on the services rendered by Iran and Oman, according to a report by Fars News Agency, citing a source within the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The source dismissed recent reports of disagreements between Iran and Oman over the percentage of cargo value - specifically, a tariff of 7% versus 3% - to be used as transit fees, stating these claims are false.

"Payments by vessels will depend on multiple factors, including the scope of services we can provide," the official emphasized.

Previously, Reuters reported that Iran and Oman are engaged in negotiations to introduce transit fees ranging from 3% to 7% of the declared cargo value, as part of efforts to restore shipping through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
