MOSCOW, July 28. /TASS/. Finnish air traffic controllers have imposed restrictions on flights over the eastern Gulf of Finland, a spokesman for the EU’s air traffic control authority told TASS.

"Temporary restrictions have been imposed on flights at altitudes below 20 kilometers (12 miles) over the eastern Gulf of Finland," approximately until 10 a.m. Moscow time (7:00 a.m. GMT), the spokesman said, without explaining the reasons behind the move.

Earlier, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said a drone alert was declared in the northwest Russian region. Also, Russia’s air transport regulator, Rosaviatsiya, said the temporary restrictions on the use of the airspace above a number of districts in the Leningrad Region had affected the routing of flights to and from Russia’s Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad.
