WASHINGTON, July 28. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump said he does not believe in allegations that Moscow is providing intelligence data to Tehran, but added that he will ask his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin about that.

When asked to comment on Kiev’s claims about Russia providing Tehran with information on potential US targets in the Middle East, Trump said: "We'll find out about this. I'll ask Putin about it. We'll find out."

"I don't think they've been doing it. Certainly not at a high level. And if they have, it has been very unimpactful," the US leader added.

However, he opined that contacts of this kind between Moscow and Tehran are potentially possible.

"They may be giving. But if they are, it hasn't worked out," Trump believes.

In his view, Iran has "no army, <…> no air force, <…> no navy, they have nothing."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after taking part in ASEAN events in the Philippines on June 22 that Moscow wanted the conflict in the Strait of Hormuz to end and was not supplying Tehran with weapons. "For no apparent reason, the West, and Washington in particular, are now stoking a narrative that Russia and China are directly supplying Iran with the weapons to attack US targets. Well, you know, it is embarrassing to even hear that," the top Russian diplomat said.
