Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the United States’ statement on providing military escorts for commercial vessels highlighted Washington’s determination to maintain instability in the region

TEHRAN, July 13. /TASS/. Tehran will not allow the Strait of Hormuz to become a source of threats to its national security, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said at a briefing.

"We will not allow the Strait of Hormuz to become a source of threats to Iran’s national security," he said.

Baghaei added that "the United States’ statement on providing military escorts for commercial vessels highlights Washington’s determination to maintain instability in the region."
