BEIJING, July 4. /TASS/. The Chinese Maritime Police will strengthen patrols in the waters east of Taiwan, said official representative of the China Coast Guard Jiang Lue.
"The Chinese Maritime Police will strengthen its patrols and law enforcement activities in waters under Chinese jurisdiction, and will resolutely defend our country's territorial sovereignty, rights and interests at sea," the official said on WeChat.
The patrols are carried out to "protect the legitimate interests, as well as the lives and property of Chinese fishermen, including the Taiwanese compatriots."
Jiang Lue said that on July 4, the Daishan group patrolling there since June was legally replaced by Xiushan boats to ensure the safety of fishing vessels, "the normal order of navigation and fishing."
