Thousands of Iranians rally in Tehran, chanting 'death to America,' 'Khamenei leader'

TEHRAN, July 4. /TASS/. More than 10,000 people have gathered for a rally in Engelab (Revolution) Square in the center of Tehran chanting slogans in support of the authorities of the Islamic Republic and honoring the memory of the country's supreme leader Ali Khamenei, a TASS correspondent reports.

"Allah is Great! Khamenei is the leader! Death to America! Death to Israel!" the participants shouted, raising their fists and palms up in memory of the deceased leader of the country.

Thousands of Iranian flags, portraits of Ali Khamenei and current leader Mojtaba Khamenei are flying over the square. In its center there is a monument in the form of a clenched fist of the late leader of the republic, symbolizing the steadfastness of the people of Iran. Similar rallies are taking place in all major squares of Tehran and in other cities.

"Our message to the world is resilience, resistance and war against the enemies of the Islamic Republic. This is the testament of our supreme leader. Russia is our friend, your President [Vladimir] Putin is highly respected and loved in Iran, he was a friend of our late leader," one of the protesters told TASS.
