Trump, Kim join world leaders congratulating Lukashenko on Independence Day
The US president conveyed his "sincere wishes for a peaceful and prosperous year" to Lukashenko and the people of Belarus
MINSK, July 3. /TASS/. World leaders have congratulated Belarus and its President Alexander Lukashenko on the country's Independence Day, the Pul Pervogo Telegram channel, which is close to the Belarusian presidential press service, reported.
Among those who sent greetings were Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Xi said he was ready "to work jointly to advance bilateral relations to a higher level and promote high-quality cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of both countries."
Trump conveyed his "sincere wishes for a peaceful and prosperous year" to Lukashenko and the people of Belarus. "I hope to meet with you in the future," he said.
Kim expressed confidence that "the friendly and cooperative relations between North Korea and Belarus, which entered a new stage of development" after the leaders' meeting in Pyongyang in March this year, "will continue to expand and strengthen across all areas in line with the interests of the peoples of the two countries."
Congratulatory messages were also sent by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. More messages continue to arrive, the channel added.
