BEIRUT, June 26. /TASS/. Israeli Air Force fighter jets hit ground targets in the settlement of Beit Yahun in southern Lebanon, where an armed sortie had previously taken place, the Janoubia news portal reported.

According to its information, a supporter of the Shiite organization Hezbollah threw a grenade at Israeli forces, wounding four soldiers. He did so from close range and was shot dead on the spot.

Beit Yahun is located in the vicinity of the city of Bint Jbeil, which was occupied by Israeli troops on April 10 after a prolonged siege.

A series of airstrikes has been carried out since morning on the town of Nabatieh al-Fawka, a stronghold of Hezbollah. No data on the consequences of the airstrikes has yet been released by local authorities.

On June 19, a new ceasefire was announced in southern Lebanon. According to the republic's Health Ministry, Israel has violated the ceasefire regime several times.
