Lukashenko says all Belarus wants is peace in Ukraine, and nothing else
"Ukraine today is merely a bargaining chip in a larger geopolitical game," the Belarusian president said
MINSK, June 25. /TASS/. Belarus has plenty of land, economic resources - and problems - all it wants now is peace, President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov.
"We do not need a war. We have enough land, enough economic resources, and enough problems. Therefore, we don’t want any confrontation and see no reason to 'stir the pot' here. I am saying this so you clearly understand my stance. I have never concealed it. Peace, and only peace," he said.
"However, this (peace - TASS) must come with a hard guarantee that they (collective West - TASS) will not toy with us and, as President Putin has noted, will not manage to deceive us yet again, because any deception on the Russia front would directly hit Belarus. We are positioned on the front edge of our Fatherland, and we are fully aware of that," he added.
"Ukraine today is merely a bargaining chip in a larger geopolitical game," Lukashenko said.
