Pakistan optimistic about possible long-lasting US-Iran peace deal — top diplomat

US President Donald Trump has previously stated that the draft of the future agreement with Iran has been generally agreed upon

ISLAMABAD, May 24. /TASS/. Results of the talks between US President Donald Trump and the leaders of Muslim countries provide grounds for optimism regarding a possible long-term settlement of the US-Iranian conflict, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Sunday.

"Today’s important telephone call led by President Donald Trump with the leaders of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, the UAE and Jordan marks a significant step closer toward the shared objective of regional peace, stability, and an early diplomatic outcome," Dar stated on his X social network account.

"The achievements of these negotiations offer grounds for optimism that a positive and durable outcome is within reach," he added.

US President Trump announced earlier that the draft of the future deal with Iran had been generally agreed. He stressed that he had telephone conversations with the leaders of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey and discussed with them the draft memorandum of understanding on the peace deal with Iran.
