TUNIS, May 22. /TASS/. Pakistani Army Staff Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran to mediate between Iran and the US with the aim of settling the conflict, the ISNA news agency reported.
According to its information, Pakistan’s efforts are aimed at resolving existing differences. The agency emphasized that Munir’s visit "does not mean that an understanding has been reached on the initial terms."
Earlier, the IRNA news agency reported, citing a source, that the commander of the Pakistani army would arrive in Tehran on Friday as part of a mediation mission between Iran and the US to hold talks with the Iranian authorities. Currently, Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is in Tehran on a three-day visit and has held several meetings with Iranian officials.
